Terms of use

1. Purpose

BienRentré helps you let trusted loved ones know you've arrived safely at your destination: trip tracking, automatic arrival detection, a safety net for delays (a cancellable countdown, then an alert), tracking links with no account needed, and "everyone gets home" groups.

2. Minimum age

BienRentré is only for people 15 or older. At sign-up, you confirm you're at least that age, through a declaration on your honour; we don't carry out any identity check.

3. What BienRentré does, and what it doesn't

BienRentré lets your loved ones know. It doesn't replace emergency services. If you're in real danger, always contact emergency services first.

BienRentré depends on your phone working properly: its battery, its network connection, the permissions you grant (location, notifications) and your manufacturer's power-saving settings. A lost signal (phone off, no network, app blocked in the background) can delay or prevent a notification.

[to be reviewed by a lawyer]: however carefully BienRentré is built, we cannot guarantee that every loved one will be notified every time, or within a given time, in every circumstance (technical failure, a declined permission, an issue at a provider, etc.). BienRentré does everything it can to prevent that, without being able to guarantee it 100%.

4. The alert and escalation, free for life

The safety net — the "are you okay?" countdown, the alert to your loved ones if you're running late, the relay between them — is free for life, for everyone, regardless of your plan. See our charter.

5. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for what happens on your account. Let us know at bonjour@bienrentre.app if you think your account has been used without your permission.

You can sign in with a password, or with Google or Apple, where those options are offered. [disabled by default to date]

6. Loved ones, tracking links, groups and rooms

You choose who to notify and with what level of detail (see our privacy policy). A tracking link lets someone without an account follow a trip; it stops when the trip ends or when it's set to expire.

In an "everyone gets home" group or a room run by a partner (a student night out, a festival, an event), the organiser never has access to trips, location or identity: only aggregate counters. You can report a room whose name, image or use seems inappropriate to you.

7. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use BienRentré to:

• track someone without their consent, or force them to share their location;
• use a tracking link or a room for surveillance, harassment, or coercion;
• circumvent the app's security limits (anti-spam, anti-abuse);
• use BienRentré for any unlawful purpose.

BienRentré never shows a loved one your past trip history, precisely so it can't become a surveillance tool.

8. Suspension and deletion

We may suspend or delete an account that breaches these Terms, in particular for a use covered by section 7. You can delete your account at any time, from the app (see "Account deletion").

9. Liability

[to be reviewed by a lawyer] To the extent permitted by law, DryIA cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from the use of BienRentré, nor for a failed notification caused by a technical failure, a network, battery or permission issue, or a failure at a third-party provider (host, notification service, mobile carrier). BienRentré is a tool that lets your loved ones know; it is neither an emergency service, nor a guarantee of physical safety.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. Any change comes with a new version number and date at the top of this page. For an important change, we'll aim to let you know before it takes effect. We'll then let you know through a message in the app or by email.

11. Governing law and mediation

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, we'll first look for an amicable solution — write to us at bonjour@bienrentre.app.

Consumer mediation isn't required to date, as no paid offer is currently sold. This will be revisited once a paid plan (BienRentré+) is launched.

[to be reviewed by a lawyer]: failing an amicable solution, the French courts have sole jurisdiction.
